Pretty Eyed, Pirate Smile

Inspired by the song lyrics from Elton John’s Tiny Dancer this is a dual-projection installation of a miniature woman dancing in a spotlight. Projected below her is an outsized pair of man’s hands cupped together. As she continues to dance we see that she is trapped within the spotlight, dancing only within its confines.
