About Ellie

Born 1976, Oxford, UK. Currently lives and works in London.

Ellie graduated with an MA distinction in Fine Art from Winchester School of Art, Barcelona, 2001. In 2002 she held residencies at London Metropolitan University and The University of Giessen, Germany.

Ellie's work was acquired by Ernst and Young, London collection in 2005. Various private collectors also own her work. She has been commissioned by: English National Opera, Art Review, Harvey Nichols and Buxton Opera Festival.

Ellie's solo shows include: Velociraptor, the Chapman Gallery, Manchester, 2007 and The Day of the Twenty Four Cakes, Bankley Gallery, Manchester, 2005. Ellie has exhibited in group shows at: The ICA, London; Espace Croise, Lille; Espai Ubu, Barcelona; The Crawford Municipal Art Gallery, Cork; The Ormeau Baths Gallery, Belfast and Museo de arte Contemporaneo, Caracas, Venezuela.

Ellie is the recipient of two grants from the Arts Council. She was Creative Review’s Pick of the New Crop on graduation and one of Fabric Magazine’s Bright Young Things in 2005. Other publications include The Irish Times, Art Review, A-N, Circa, Metro and Flux. She was recently nominated for the Jerwood Artist’s Platform and is a participating artist on this year’s Jerwood Opera Writing programme.

Ellie is an Associate Lecturer at Chelsea College of Art and Design and Byam Shaw School of Art. She has been a Visiting Lecturer at Huddersfield and London Metropolitan Universities, Brighton University and the London College of Communication.
